well...not counting your mechanical skills... you can get a used edelbrock performer for between $50.-$90. on ebay,(im selling another one in a week)...save a lot of weight, performance a tad better than stock...the cam, chain,lifters thing would make a huge difference for the price...i have almost the same car except for its a 342 gear rear end...and im on my 3rd motor...
