Hey guys,
I thought I would post a few pictures of Amanda's new hood that we just received a couple hours ago. This hood I purchased from PY. Was shipped from PA to Anchorage, Alaska with no damage. Packing was very well done. The outter box had Goodmark on it. The sticker you can see for yourself as I thought it was neat that they actually told you the thickness of the metal etc. If anyone need/wants close ups of the hood, ask now or for ever hold your peace... ![]() Bill

Bill & Amanda, really appreciate you taking the time for those photos....
Do you have any of the back edge (windshield side)? There were a couple comments earlier on the hood's ridge not matching stock. My thinking is that maybe years of paint and prep work may have altered the originals and these repros are correct. Do you have any comments in that area? Thanks, John |

John,
Here are some pics of the windshield side. We have not test fitted it yet. We test fitted our old hood today as we just replaced the hood hinge springs and I did not want to chance ruining the new hood if something happened to the springs. We will test fit the new hood probably tomorrow. Observations so far is I real like the new hood. The inserts from the old hood fit right in with no problems. The windshield washer nozzels fit in like a glove. So far, definetley worth the money. Bill

Thanks for posting those pics. What power tool did you use to do the trimming?

What trimming? We have done nothing to the hood.

Drilled holes for the radius, then cut out the framing with a die grinder and cutoff wheel and finished with a file. I'll try and get some better pics on later today.

here's a better outline of the area to be trimmed for the Ram Air plate and a finished pic. this is for a 68 car not exactly sure what's required for a 69.

Great pics although I do have a '69. Does anyone know if the hood pan installation is the same?

Bill, thanks for the pictures of the back of the hood!
Did further checking elsewhere and the sheet metal used is actually a better quality than used by GM at the time. When I paint my car I'm going to use the Dynacorn hood (will fix and paint the original too...better safe than sorry and have a backup :-) Thanks all. John |
