No way, could any nice hotrod ruin my day! But you Canadians sure evoke my sympathy- seeing mostly Chev-powered Pontiacs. On the other side of the coin, I could get really enthused about building a Pontiac-powered Laurentien! There was a '57 2-door hardtop for sale a while back (Ottawa area?)- took me forever to get that idea out of my mind- a "small" '57 Pontiac!

Trunk floor's all sheetmetaled in... mounts are on .. now I just gotta bring it home... soon.. I've learned that sheetmetal work is expensive, so it's next on my list of things to learn... lol

Hi
That’s going to be an awesome car.
My next winter project is going to be a 56 Pontiac 2dr post and I want a more modern front suspension, without have to use a sub frame from another car.
Were have you bought your front suspension?

Is it from fatman fabrication?

Hey Pontchief, the front suspension is made by a local company in Edmonton called Macgyvers. They have a website too... www.macgyvers.com They handled all my chassis work on this one and did a fantastic job. Talk to Mike and he can hook you up...

Default Update....

Went and dragged the old girl home today. Now it has to wait for breakup (spring) till i can get some more hours on it. Wiring, plumbing, mount engine & trans, exh are the biggest hurdles for now. Here's the finished trunk, the only change is to lessen the angle on top of the cell for the filler....but it's being handled.

Nice looking job, Lunaticeh, Where are you in Edmonton, I am from Red Deer and am just gonna start redoing a 50 Torpedo but mine is staying stock, what was the original drive train in yours, and what did you do with it. Maybe someday we can meet and compare cars when yours is done. Hopefully the snow will be gone soon , I have bought most everything I need to redo mine, now all I need is time...Bill

Hey Bill, I'm all for meetin up whenever this thing hits the road, it's built for driving!!! I'm actually just north of Edm, but might be getting a place in Edm soon. The car had no engine when I got it, and the trans and rear end disappeared last summer, so I have nothing good to offer to you... lol.. It'll be interesting to put a stock one beside this one and play spot the differences...

Rolled the old girl out into the sunshine today, freshly tinted glass, new weather stipes etc all around... some easy paint work done... started header fabrication... now only if those flanges would show up I could make some real progress... lol

Talking

Oh I tell ya... It's so close I can almost taste it! Engine's been fired, still have to mount the regulator, run some fuel lines, trans cooler lines, finish up the wiring harness, mount cooling system. Front sheetmetal is on, just waiting for the hood and trunk trim to come back from paint..All the fun little stuff... then I should be ready to rock. I included some new pics and a vid link of the test fire...

Black is the plan for now Bill, I've had a shiny car for the last few years and it was a pain in the ass. This way I'm not so concerned about dents and scratches. That old sheetmetal can take alot more abuse. After the tally to get it this far, I'll hold off for a bit before doing any nice bodywork. Makes it more of a sleeper when it looks a bit ratty. I'm hoping to get it out to the track before the snow flies to make a few passes...
