I just went through buying the hotchkis springs. After talking to the sales rep for a while he stated that first gen owners are always returning the big block lowering springs. He recommended all pontiac firebirds should use the small block springs to acheive the full drop. He also stated that the springs are the same spring rate just the small block one has less coils.
