If you're going to primer the car, PPG DP-90 is a really nice (and smart) way to do it. It is a very durable finish that looks good... it has a satin look to it, not totally flat. It is a primer-sealer and does a great job of sealing out any moisture. MY '67 GTO is wearing it right now. I am doing bodywork piece by piece, spray canning with semi-glass black as I complete each area, then when it is done, I will sand that rattle-can junk off and redo the DP-90 in my driveway.

All that being said, I think your bird looks great in that pic... just buff it out like was previously suggested. My car had big areas of peeling paint, and old cracking bondo and laquer all over the place. I had to do something.
