You are right Bill, but I do know the Kauffman's and have dealt with them and still deal with them so I do know what type of people they are so I will continue to defend them!!! Your comment is right. Thanks Maurice. PS. Bill are you the Bill that was going to buy my 455 w/RA4 heads 3 or 4 years back on Ebay. I really could not understand the post after Bill's post, sorry.

Roadrage, why shouldn't they continue the lawsuit?
They are doing the right thing. Like Tom V said, no one was killed, unlike the Ford/Firestone fiasco. Wonder why you guys aren't over on their sites b|tching and whining about that? Most of these guys just like to whine and pad their post count.

Often the cheerleaders really have no clue to the facts regarding the dealings and situations that involved more than just one individual.

I assume you're referring to the 2nd question I asked?
I can answer that question. It was settled in a court of law not in the publics opinion forum.

The document that was initially posted does not say that either party has done anything wrong.

I have a question, i know nothing about any of this (other than the little I've read). If I buy a block, then have it modified/machined, does that not void the warranty? If I read correctly, Kaufman ask to have the block shipped back to them, correct? I've had some dealings with them (Kaufman) in the past (several years ago) and hadn't had any problems.
What was the origianl problem with the block? Just asking

My complaints were the brinell, the lack of thickness in the cylinderbores, and the oversized cam bores. Rek claimed, as you read I caused the defects I complained about by the work I had done. Anyone know how that is possible? |

I don't see how machining an engine block could void a warranty on manufacturing defects. All engine blocks need some sort of machining before assembly, at the very least for piston/ring to cylinder wall clearances. Machining does not cause manufacturing defects, but can sometimes reveal them.

Mr. Stallion I use my own name. I used the Kaufmans before there was a KRE and "thought" I was a valued customer at one point and but had issues with a few things I got from them. I can not speak of one of them at this time that was referenced in one of these links. As Steve said there are other folks involved.
I'm sure this thread will get locked or a warning not to make it a KRE bashing. All you have to do is do a "search" to find out more data on these topics. I think the question he had was valid -please clear up for us how did final boring, or lifter boring affect the cylinder wall thickness, the quality of cast iron used-both of which KRE had advertised as specific specs that were in fact not accurate when actually measured.Or make the cam bore incorrect. Final cleanup hone should not have affected the numbers as they were advertised at that bore. I agree they are doing what a business should to protect themselves once customer service has failed. We can get a number of first hand knowledge folks on the other side from the cheerleaders also, but we've been down that road before. As Tom said at least no one got killed, and the legal repercussions still go on.

Derek Stewart, happy? your right everyone is tough behind their keyboard, including yourself! why do you think more people than are directly involved are upset about this? we don't need anymore bad vendors! personally i would like to see all resolved in what i feel is the only way it should have been, but fat chance at that so i will not involve myself to any further of an extent. good luck DI and skip and everyone else

#1) Brian, I was not speaking about you. Scott is your partner-friend-driver of your race car so your are helping Scott with his fight. No use talking to you, you are a lost cause.
#2) Skip Fix, is this your real name? Not speaking about you, I have not seen your post on this thread before now. Customer Service failed for who, you. If not stop speaking for others. #3 Derek, I am not a tough guy at all. Come to my trailer at Norwalk and I will invite you in for a pop and a sandwich and you other GUYS also. If you are not involved in the suit, or do not or have not had any dealings with the Kauffman's leave the fight alone. Thanks Maurice.

Skip, It will never go away on this board. Look how John Wallace still likes to drag Ford through the mud for tires we BOUGHT vs designed, manufacturered, etc: Another Cheap shot. At least I stick with facts in my posts.

Cant blame the customer for what the vendor does or don not do. Or perhaps you can but there is no logic to it. They hurt them selves more than any of us could. Where theres smoke......
If potential victims dont have the right to speak up why do we have a jury system? |
