Yeah, I saw that. I'm not paying $7500 for a car ;-)
Diesel 6.2 swap with a 700R4. 35-40MPG and get out of its own way without any trouble. The 5.7 could do +30MPG without breaking a sweat with a 3 speed so the 6.2 combo should be well suited to the task in a car that weighs 1500lbs less than the trucks it came in. The 6.2 is almost the same size as a Pontiac v8 so I know it would fit and having all the diesel specific bits and bobs would make the conversion much simpler than trying to find them all. If I was going to put a 455 in one I'd start with a 301 car as those are plentiful ;-) I drove a '78 with a 400 in it, best car I ever owned and got 19-21MPG with it with the AC on. I want to get back into one... |

I recently saw an 80 here. had a For Sale sign in window. It looked straight and clean......... Was too busy at the time to follow it. Finally saw it at a business. It was a 2 door. Woman got out of it, was smoking. Walked over to it, interior was riddled with burned spots across front seal, interior was ragged out. They were asking $8000.00. Good for a laugh...
