Here are the photos from Hot Rod Magazine of Wangers at the '60 Nationals. I believe he won both S/S and Stock Eliminator. Two 1960 Pontiacs in the final run for Stock Eliminator- how's that grab ya', Troy?

Troy I looked at an original 389 tri-power automatic 60 Ventura at the Spring AutoFair in Charlotte. I didn't have enough money to even begin to deal for it. I used to know of a 60 Cat in a local yard I'm going back to see about. One day I plan to build a replica of a Stock Eliminator car as meeting you and seeing your car at VMP in 07 inspired me. I am really tickled that you got that big black car running where it is. And for those that haven't met Troy in person he is a class act and one of the best people you will ever meet. Alan

Sounds like a car I've seen a few times. IIRC the owner is from Wollongong N.S.W. I think he's mates with GAS455?
It started life as a four door Laurentian, but the owner made it into a two door sedan. It actually looks very good. It is Dark Blue, tubbed and last time I saw it sported a BBC, maybe 396? You're not counting BBC power are you Troy?

I'll try to dig up some pics.

yes, that sounds like the car. I know that it has had a roof chop and that it stared life as a sedan.

You are right about the sedan being a 4 door conversion & being Greg's (Gas455) mate.....I had a web domain Greg sent me for it but I guess it expired...won't load..

60 Man, you're just lucky I don't still have my red 59' Cat. Heck it ran high 15 sec with a 2-barrell back in 64'. Just think how fast it would be today?
Oh wait, you're still faster than me.
I got to meet you next year. OGR

OGR the first time I met Troy he was pushing that ol' Ventura down the quarter in the high tens and talk about a car that launches and runs straight, Troy's does. Even though I don't drink anymore I look forward to opportunity to sit and drink a beer with him.

Slug? I've had the pleasure of seeing your car go down the track also. If it's a slug, then you put roller slates on it and strapped a rocket to it's back. Greased Lightning, I tells ya.

I saw "60 man" some 10 years ago at Norwalk. His car was in the stageing lanes with the hood up. Was surprised to see 3x2s. He seems to be as fast in the pits as well as on the track.
