assuming there was at least one 4 spd made, yes. LOL. And from reading here it would seem like there was way more than one......
Will be really kind of cool if we can get them to break it down at PHS. After all, they have all the info. |

I am not sure if they have the info. The numbers I have are from the GM Heritage Center, and I know both businesses don't necessarily share info.
I grew up in Wilmington, BTW. Bought my car in Christiana. |

They HAVE the info. Every single convertible sale will list if it was auto or manual. If its manual it will say if it was a 4 spd or a 3 spd and which motor it was attached to. Would be a little bit of a tedious job, but it can be done
Oh cool! Where do you live now? |

PHS is usually not in the habit of counting invoices. Meanwhile, the Heritage Center has the actual documentation that shows the different configurations built.
I live in the NYC area. I almost bought a '69 RAIV GTO in Newark in '86, and the car is still in the area. |

Yes, I know...they normally dont. Yet they have the info. What documents does the Heritage Center have, and is it accessible to us? Where are they located? In other words....would they allow one of us to sit down and sift through the records for the info?
I'm from NYC as a kid. Grew up in Coney Island....W 35th St. to be exact. My grandparents still live down there near Seagate, so I get up there once in a while to see them. |

The Heritage Center has the memos that tallied up a bunch of items from the end of the year. I was able to peruse some of the records last month. There's another thread here where I give some of the numbers I've discovered. Unfortunately, I didn't stumble upon the 400 stick numbers, but I do know for sure the 205 number for ragtops plus 111 428-4 sticks were made for both bodystyles.

Where are they, and are we allowed to look for that info? One of those 111 428 4 spds is on ebay right now.....a convertible. Its a project, but I'd love to have it. Damn............lol

Sorry, forgot to answer the rest . . .
It's not open to the public, and it's in Michigan. Their website has some good info, but not the info you're looking for: http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/ |

My car is a PHS documented'67 GP convert with a matching numbers 428 HO 4 speed with factory A/C. Anyone have a guess on how many were made? I've read other posts discussing this but you guys seem to have info from The Heritage Center that is new to me.

I thought the HO wasn't available with AC when with a stick?
Regardless, I do know 559 GP HOs were built in both bodystyles. And we know 205 GP ragtops had sticks. Your combo, I don't have that info. That's certainly drool material for me - got a pic? |

Diego I'm out of town with only my phone so no pics from here but if you do a search for "and so it begins" you'll see a few. Car was and still is a basket case, I've found a few things missing but not many. Starting a body off resto next week.

Diego......you mentioned 111 428 4 spds, so assuming that includes any HO models? Whatever number of those that might have been convertible AND HO...I'm imagining its a tiny number.

Someone here made a factored guess that it may be between 12 and 25 or so. I have no idea but it can't be many and how many remain?

Yes....its unfortunately a guess. Anyone who wanted a manual 4 spd trans and convertible probably wanted performance too.....and also had a healthier checkbook. Which means there might be an abnormally high # of 428 and even HO buyers. But thats just a guess too using logic that may or may not have any merit.
Regardless....its not many. Sounds like a really cool car. |

428-4 = 428-4
428 HO = 428 HO |

I think what you are saying diego is that any 428 HO's are NOT included anywhere in that 111 428's in 1967 GP's with a 4 spd. Hmmm....but would still be included in the 205 number of manual transmissions in convertibles.

That is correct:
The 111 is for non-HO 428s in both bodystyles. The 205 includes all engines available with manual tranny. |

I'm lost! So what's your best guess on how many 428 HO 4 speed GP verts in '67?

Why would I guess? It just leads to misinformation. I have presented the only info I have obtained from the GM Heritage Center. They do have the documentation of the info you seek, but I didn't see it in the limited time I was there. They do have a service where you can pay them for the research if you'd like.
