Blackmore is probably my favorite guitarist of all time. I can't count the number of times I've listened to "Machine Head" on my trusty Dual turntable. Although I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves, I didn't list him earlier because he's pretty recognized, he's had multiple "Guitar Player" covers, a signature Strat, etc.
