The damper, timing cover, not the water pump.
Once off, you should take the bolt out of the eccentric setup.

As was said, the cam should be sticking past the end of the cam gear.
This locates the eccentric along with the tab on the eccentric.

Shouldn't need to do anything to the timing gear setup.
(no taking it off)

Let us know what it looks like.

I'll be sure to let you guys know what happens tomorrow.

I will be heading to the shop once I get out of campus tomorrow to install an OE fuel pump. The more I am looking at the picture of the cam being degreed I can see the cam protruding out of the cam gear.

I still find it hard to believe my builder would over look something that critical. Seems that if the cam was off, the lifters would not be sitting on the lobes correctly which is something that would have been noticed while adjusting the rockers.

Well I bought and installed a cheap factory fuel pump today and it worked. I am so relieved that the problem was not the eccentric.

I called RobbMc Performance and they are going to make it right and ship me a new pump. In exchange for the old one. This is the first problem I have ever had with this company, and they are quick to recitify their problems. Really a stand up buisiness.

Glad you got it figured out.

Nice to not have to tear it back down.

Oh it was a huge relief. I actually just left the airtex pump in there and hooked it up and started the car today. It was the first time the motor has fired in almost a year, and I couldn't wait to start driving the car.

Next week when the RobbMc pump gets back it will be going back into the car.

Thanks for all in imput guys!
