Does anyone know if the antique gold for 69 has metallic ? I want to use a single stage paint (not to cheap out). If painted at the same time, but not assembled, could I get the same results ? As long as the panels are shot in the position they are in when assembled...

If your paint code # is 65, the name of that color is Antique Gold Metallic. If you want it to look good for the longest time possible, use BC/CC. If you want to be sure that all the panels match, paint the whole car assembled using the procedure described in a previous post. If you are a really good painter, mix all the paint exactly the same way, don't make any gun adjusments "mid-stream", and paint everything at the same time with parts hanging the way they will be installed, and put the same film thickness on each part, you can get a good color match. Or sometimes not.

My car is Silver Glaze metalic and it was painted in peices.
Eveything matches perfectly. My painter even used a sun gun to double check the match.

I do a combination of both. Take fenders and hood off, painted underside and seams, put back on the car and then paint the topside.
