Since the end of the week at work was a very emotional one (see thread about my boss passing away), I have tried to spend the weekend with my family and friends and trying to appreciate the life I have.

Friday night - Spent with my hubby and our friends out at dinner
Saturday afternoon - Spent three hours with my son hiking trails for his Cub Scout troop First Aid Badges.
Saturday evening - Went to Cyclone Hockey Game with Hubby and Best Friend... they lost but it came down to a shoot out. Really good game with a couple of fights.
Sunday - Got up early and ran 12 miles to test out the recently healed broken ankle. I broke it on October 9th. I was cleared by the doctor on Monday to start running. I was going to try for 18, but suddenly at the start of the 13th mile, it gave me a sharp pain. I stopped and took off the ankle brace and tried running again and same sharp pain, so I stopped and walked a couple of miles back to my car. Not too bad, but still has me worried if I will finish the Full Marathon on the 20th.

Rest of today, on couch watching football with my kids. I am not looking forward to this week at work. I am already seeing cancellation notices for meetings I had scheduled with my boss for the week ahead. Each cancellation notice is accompanied with a fresh surge of tears. There is supposed to be a memorial for him some time this week. It is going to be very tough to get through. He was only 50 years old. And I do not know of a more athletic, more lively, more vivacious person. He showed up for one of our latest department meetings sporting a black eye he had gotten playing rugby over the weekend. He was just awesome.

I better stop. Tears are forming again. Going to be a very long work week.
