I would've done the same thing if mine was just a street car.
Sometime in the future if I can justify the $'s, I'd like to convert to a rack.

It's a cakewalk to drive these cars with manual steering, and it frees up lots of extra hp. My ex-sister in law, 5' 1" 95 lbs, use to drive my brother's 65 chevy short bed with manual steering. When she brought it off the line, she actually climbed up off the seat and used her body weight and hand-over-hand to steer, only to jump onto the other side of the wheel in the same fasion as the assend came back the other way. No problem at all, and that little girl could outdrive most guys.

The only reason I can think why someone would complain about these vehicles with manual steering is because they don't know how to drive. It's a plauge, and I see these people all the time trying to move the vehicles on the crusie lot.
