Ah yes, I feel your pain. Can't sleep on my right side and I have to pitch underhand to my grandkids.

I have to take a sleeping pil to just sleep. I have 3 herniated disc in my neck and recovering from a torn rotary cuff. I can't do much let alone a muscle up or whatever you call it.

I still hit the gym pretty hard at 60 and figure I am strong enough to do it but like many others, the rotater cuff in my right shoulder is not going to cooperate. Looking at surgury in the near future!

Wink Keep The Body Busy!

To John aka: GTO Kid - congrats to you on your athletic achievement., and thanks for understanding my intended “Muscle” joke.
Personally I get my exercise by doing most of the manual chores around here myself Mowing, Tree Trimming & Gardening, Hand Washing/Waxing all of our vehicles, Projects, Grilling and Cooking, Hand Washing Cooking Utensils – Pots – Pans - Dishes etc. Oh yeah, then there is also those Pontiac projects too! Amazing how easy it is to keep fit.
Healthiest thing I did was to slim down and start eating basic fresh foods and prepare foods for my wife and me. Congrats Kid!

Good for you! real muscleups are very hard especially for a man of your size!
Good luck with your training.

Hmm, haven't intentionally tried to do multiple in a row. I did a couple playing around at a park with my siblings at my company picnic last year, may have to intentionally make a go at it. I still consider myself a little weak in the standard pull up department though, 15-20 when fresh and 5-10 at the end of a work out. I'm 6'2" and only 155lbs though.

That's a big accomplishment.

And the goal of my next deployment.

I've lost 30 lbs going paleo over the past year, all of it fat.

I can pull up and bring my torso to the bar so that my body is horizontal to the floor, but the muscle up escapes me. I'm 6'2", 205

Next trick will be trying them my weight vest. The key for me was weighted pullups. You should be able to do pull ups with at least 75 extra weight.

So I have been thinking about this thread. I can do a fair amount of pullups and am in pretty good shape. My kid and I stopped at the school today to give muscle ups a try. I now have a new goal!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Job!

Shawn

Its not a pull up, its a" pull over"
I did these till I was about 45. Using a quick motion helps achieve the goal.
I think regular pull ups are better for you.

Similar to Snatching 120lb barbell with one hand. Saw that done by guys in highschool.
Now I just get some traction to ease the pain
