Glad to see you like this idea...for awhile I thought I was the only one! But...they were listening! I was starting to make a wood/epoxy model to start the process of getting this done, but stopped when I found out what was in the pipline!

I want one!!! IMO this one piece approach might be better than a cross bolted extended skirt block. Certainly a step forward from multi piece skirt extensions and halo's etc..

Bill can confirm whether or not it will be a flat pan rail that I suggested. (a relatively easy mod to section an existing pan and install a flat pan rail or have a new pan made, as the piece fills the timing cover gap and can cover the rear main cap without a curve. Belt drive version simply could be made without the timing cover notch/extension.)

Not only for stock blocks,...this should add further strength to aftermarket blocks as well.

There are other things in the "pipeline" coming that will benefit us Pontiac enthusiasts and likely some Olds stuff too. Bill and Mondello's is not just about CV1 or Olds stuff.

At last a girdle, hopefully for the stock blocks. Something like this one would be nice, even nicer if it's reasonably priced.

... the Billet-Main is a 1pc. design, and this one is for the Olds engine, but the next one we make will be for the Pontiac engine, and we will be making one for the after market Pontiac blocks also ...

... this one is almost finished, and we look forward to testing this one on very nasty SBO engine ... ... Cody was working on the CAD model a little today, and here is where she's at so far ...

Congrats. Nice pieces.

This brought me back to the CV-1 to Olds conversion. How is that going?

... well, obviously we have been on hold waiting for the 5 Axis stuff, as we will be CNC'n our own heads now, but to be quite honest, we are still a little undecided as to which port will be CNC'd in the Old's/CV-1 heads, lol ...

... we are considering using my CV-1 HighPort/RacePlate's ports on these heads ...

... Cody is building multiple engines like me, so it is taking some time, but thanks for asking Ron ...

"well, obviously we have been on hold waiting for the 5 Axis stuff,"

I'm sorry it wasn't obvious to me Bill. I believe it was some time ago you posted about the Olds ventures. This CNC info was new to me.

Anyway, no worries, good luck with your programs.

I wish we had 5 axis machines at work. Our machining centers are only 3 axis. Still possible to widdle some interesting pieces which is cool.

... oh no Ron, i was just stating it was obvious for me to put things on hold for the 5 Axis, not obvious for you ...

... it is nice to know now i can CNC development shapes for testing and such without having to pay for it, very nice perk ...

... but thanks for the good luck, we have much work ahead of us ...
