Isn't "Sport Sedan" synonymous with " Fast Cab "?

Does anybody remember the seventies when Chevrolet couldn't figure out why Novas were not selling in Mexico?

No Va loosely translated No Go!!

It does nothing for me. GM styling, especially Cheby division, is bland and boring. The new Malibu missed the boat. I cant wait to see the price tag on this SS. If its anything like the Malibu, it will be overpriced too.

This argument started in the eighties when a buddy of ours (we being muscle car guys) used to get his father's hand-me-down cars. They were always Mercedes....his father was a doctor. Anyways, while we were reading Hot Rod mags, he would be reading Car & Driver. When the 190 MB came out in AMG form he thought it would be baddest car on the planet. So we would tease him about taking a four door Nova putting a bad ass motor in with suspension mods and....VOILA! A contender for the AMG! It was all in fun really! Nobody really built fast four doors back then. He used say its a Sport Sedan! We would laugh. Of course nowa days its common place. Lets face it people who can afford cars are people with kids. And jobs! LOL

In retrospect, MB was a little ahead of their time.

Looks a lot like a G8 GT smoothed over and covered up to look like something new. The car was very popular and GM is still trying to get as much out of it as possible. Too bad they killed PONTIAC instead of making it performance oriented exclusively, they could still be selling G8 GT's among other cars, and we would still would have our F-body cars. Once my G8 GT needs to be replace, I know I won't be going to GM for a replacement.

Back in '05 when no cars were selling, the only car selling was the mustang. Pontiac should have held out for the return of the F car. Incidentally, is the new Camaro an F body?

You mean GM should have held out, it wasn't up to Pontiac. When I say "our F-body cars", I mean Pontiac's formula/firebird & trans am. Funny how after stopping production of the F-bodies in 2002, and after seeing the big success The new retro 2005 Mustang had, GM decides to start the ball rolling on a new retro Camaro only.

The Charger would be a bad ass looking car in a coupe. They don't want to take any thunder from the Challenger.

Buick was already the substitute for the Cadillac, Chevrolet is the low line, ok, but why not keep one of the middle of road ones? Like Pontiac or Oldsmobile? Ok granted Olds always looked like your grandfather's car, LOL. Just sayin'.

If GM could do it over, I think they would keep the F-bodies going past 2002 and Pontiac operating as a performance division again. NO ASTEKS!!!

The trouble is GM, same as the commander in chief is doomed to repeat mistakes already made because they don't realize that history repeats itself, and if you continue to make unwise decisions it will always repeat itself to the negative side. Wiser choices and it will repeat itself to the positive, dropping history curriculum out of the public schools no one ever looks back to see what does and doesn't work and the simply have a 50/50 chance of making a correct decision.

I actually think Odumba thinks he can change history, and will it to his twisted way of thinking. The Odumba thinking also seems to be a great influence at GM...................................

Anyone beside me have their health insurance premiums go up after Jan 1, wasn't that health care overhaul supposed to make it more affordable???

There has been a bit press regarding the price ,it is expected to be $10,000 cheaper in the US compared to Australia.

At the end of the day both the Pontiac G8 and Chevy SS are re-badged Holden VE/VF Commodores. After the G8 was killed off in the States, Holden here had a couple of thousand G8 front ends left over so they released them on a run out model and made a G8 retro package available to existing Commodore owners who wanted the Pontiac look.
