Default Anyone with Edelbrock knowledge

Hi, I'm not sure if I should have posted this here or the performance section, but here goes. I know a lot of you guys are factory parts guys, but I was wondering if anyone has some knowledge on some edelbrock stuff.

I have a 67 400 with an Edelbrock 1411 carb (should have it soon), as my Edelbrock 1405 was messed. Right now it has the factory intake manifold on, but I have been looking and I can get a great deal on the Edelbrock 2156 manifold. Keeping in mind I am not keen on keeping things factory, is there a performance benefit to this or am I just wasting my time/money?

Right now I have the spacer that converts it from the Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with equal sized carb holes to the smaller/larger holes that the factory intake manifold has. Would I still need this spacer or would it then be useless. I will post a picture of the manifold I am talking about so you can see what I am talking about compared to the factory manifold.
