 . Provided of course if you have a 74 TA to start with

This has butt-pirate written all over it.
Let's look at this from a whole different perspective. The seller claims to be a Firebird restoration shop....so a Firebird restoration shop decided to tear apart a number's matching 74 T/A to make an LS car out of it?? With all the non numbers matching cars floating around out there, they pull the correct motor out of the car?? I'm not and never have been a big number's matching guy but even I recognize that a number's matching car will bring big dollars to the right buyer. How frigging dumb are they??

Do you guys remember the 70 Formula I had for sale last summer? It was a 99K original mile YS 400 automatic that I had bought in 1982. It had been off the road in dry storage for the last 17 years. It ran and drove, but I wouldn't have trusted it.
It was pretty much 100% original, still had the factory AM radio, original 3.55 12-bolt, and the only engine work had been valve covers and maybe a timing chain. Body was super. I took it to Autofair and sold it last fall. The buyer is doing a rotisserie restoration and putting it back with a LS motor. I believe it's also getting a mini-tub and a 9" Ford rear. There is a power washer and a jug full of degreaser in the background. Maybe the engine and trans was not all that clean to start with.
