Update: with a full tank of gas, the rear wheels do not lock up prematurely. These drum brakes are very powerful actually. But I suspect the shoes have been redlined with semi-metallic material because they have a bit of metal flake sparkle to them! Good brakes.

Found a few products with rust inhibitors to help prevent piston/bore sticking on cars that sit:

1. Wilwood Assembly Lube
2. Carlson H9440 Brake Assembly Fluid
3. Raybestos BAF12 Brake Asembly Fluid

These are specialty brake piston assembly products, not to be confused with other products labeled brake lubricant or grease.

If you have power steering check your adjustment on the hydraulic valve.When this is out of adjustment and the brakes are applied it can pull you into either lane next to you.

Spoke to an old timer about the rear locking up early. He said any machining to the front drums will reduce braking significantly because the contact patch is reduced. Since my front drums are .080 over, he says replace them and see if the bias situation improves.
