the whole front clip is in primer now, and the weather is breaking so I should be able to get the rest of the car to the body shop soon, so far everything I could unbolt has been taken there and is all ready for paint.

Also I placed two big orders with ames and got the engine about done. The Ram Air stuff came today so I got it installed. Just waiting for the fan shroud, which should be here in a couple days.

I sanded it down nearly all the way with a DA and then by hand, and then it was sprayed with the primer a couple times and sanded again, before final prime. That was a lot of work.

Loaded it up and took it to the body shop on friday.
we pulled the windshield on Saturday and fond that the front of the dash under the windshield is pretty badly rotted.
I ghink I have located a donor car for parts locally but it is going to take a bunch of welding to fix that mess!

Chris,
Sorry to here about the surprise under the windshield. Hopefully the donor car gets you back on track.

I didn't end up with the parts car, because it was too far gone, and I found there is a piece made to fix this issue that is about $70
It's all fixed and back on track

Chris, just caught your thread. Great progress. I'm doing the same car in Red, and am about 3-6 months behind you in getting the body back on the frame. Thanks for posting the pics.

Body work is coming along nicely.
He got the front fenders on this past weekend.
and as I suspected the bigger tires hit the back corner of the front fenders.
so we had to modify them a bit.
getting excited!

Progress was slow there for a while, but my body man got motivated again and replaced both rear quarters and patched up the trunk extensions and wheel houses! I'm really excited, because this was the part of the car that I was really concerned about!
Almost ready for paint now!
