Thanks a lot! It sure is a lot of fun! The build took forever it seems like and I get frustrated sometimes, but when I get to go for a drive it's all definitely worth it! Most of the time I just roll into the pedal and let off just to listen to the blow off valve! Lol

Please post your combo details sometime. I would be interested in reading it.

A 3.89 is a lot of gear. Great vid.

Thanks Tom! Yeah, I want to change the gear to a 3.25 or 3.50 set if I keep 28" tires on it. That's why I put the 30" slicks on. Trying to kill some gear. With the 30's my final ratio is 3.37. I don't know if I like the way the 30's feel with swaying sometimes, so I may go with a 3.50 gear and 28's. I don't know yet, but I know that I do like driving it with a higher gear so far.

I'm going with a 3.60 and a 31" tire on my setup. I do have a 4 link and fairly wide tires.
I like to chart the tire, gear, rpm combo. Makes it easy to see where you really are. Looks like this. ---------------------------------------------------------- rear tire - 31" tall, 5843 multiplier rear gear 3.60 trans gears multiplier 1 2.33 0.01099 2 1.48 0.01731 3 1.00 0.02562 OD 0.778 0.03292 1 2 3 OD RPM | 8.388 | 5.328 | 3.600 | 2.801 | --------------------------------------------- 750 | 8.2 | | | | --------------------------------------------- 1000 | 11.0 | | | | --------------------------------------------- 1250 | 13.7 | | | | --------------------------------------------- 1500 | 16.5 | 26.0 | | | --------------------------------------------- 1750 | 19.2 | 30.3 | | | --------------------------------------------- 2000 | 22.0 | 34.6 | 51.2 | | --------------------------------------------- 2250 | 24.7 | 38.9 | 57.6 | 74.1 | --------------------------------------------- 2500 | 27.5 | 43.3 | 64.1 | 82.3 | ----------------------------------------------- 2600 = 86 mph cruise 2750 | 30.2 | 47.6 | 70.5 | 90.5 | --------------------------------------------- 3000 | 33.0 | 51.9 | 76.9 | 98.8 | --------------------------------------------- 3250 | 35.7 | 56.3 | 83.3 | 107.0 | --------------------------------------------- 3500 | 38.5 | 60.6 | 89.7 | 115.2 | --------------------------------------------- 3750 | 41.2 | 64.9 | 96.1 | 123.5 | --------------------------------------------- 4000 | 44.0 | 69.2 | 102.5 | 131.7 | --------------------------------------------- 4250 | 46.7 | 73.6 | 108.9 | 140.0 | --------------------------------------------- 4500 | 49.5 | 77.9 | 115.3 | 148.1 | --------------------------------------------- 4750 | 52.2 | 82.2 | 121.7 | | --------------------------------------------- 5000 | 55.0 | 86.6 | 128.1 | | --------------------------------------------- 5250 | 57.7 | 90.9 | 134.5 | | --------------------------------------------- 5500 | 60.4 | 95.2 | 140.1 | | --------------------------------------------- 5750 | 63.2 | 99.5 | 147.3 | | --------------------------------------------- 6000 | 65.9 | 103.9 | 153.7 | | --------------------------------------------- 6250 | 68.7 | 108.2 | 160.1 | | --------------------------------------------- |

I appreciate it Junkyard! I am kind of proud of it. I've repaired header tubes and things before, but these are the first full set of headers and system that I've done. I like to just jump into things. Sometimes they turn out good, and sometimes not. Lol! I narrowed my stock fuel tank and used an old bbc oil pan for a sump for it. My buddies call it the Frankentank! I don't know if you can see it good or not, but I enjoy doing stuff like that.

Tom, that is a neat chart. I'll have to do some math to figure out what gear and tire to use. I've just been looking at other guys cars and of course using what I already have. By looking at your chart I may end up with 3.50's and the 30's, or something similar. Also, I'll have to go over to Yellowbullet.com and check on how your build is coming along. That thing is sweet!
