From my perspective, the refs call was marginal, however at full speed it did look like a face mask. That being said, the Lions defensively just plan out blew it on the final play. They did about everything wrong that could be done wrong. Deserved to lose!

Once the defender let his finger slip off the face mask, he kinda' grabbed Aaron's shoulder pad. So, wouldn't have that become a horse collar tackle, even if they didn't throw the face mask flag? Either way, a defender should know not to try and tackle someone by grabbing ANYTHING above the shoulders.
