the 70-72 bumpers are the same;
the 73 bumpers areca whole different beast - even after you remove all the extra steel (most of which unbolts); i would suspect that the 70-72 bumpers were painted one way, then the 73 bumpers were painted another way.

I found black paint on that lip on Dennis Jensens 71 Formula when I sanded it down.

72-73 style valance is great explanation why my 72 not painted. It has metal valance looks like it was put on long time ago. Has incorrect hardware so I know change out (from plastic). I guess if I don't go plastic valance I should paint that strip, and if I change valance later to correct plastic style, the black will be hid anyway.
