Good luck MD79TA on the 68 Vert, also Congrats on your retirement!! If you can, could you post some pics of your progress along the way. Most of the folks here can tell you where parts and bolts go if you cannot remember. Even though I take pics prior to teardown, bag and tag, I always find something I laid down till later and then forgot about. I usually bag it as unknown and 9 times out of 10 find out where it goes by process of elimination. Having lots and lots of reference pictures also helps. Looking forward to following your progress.

Guys on the last step to get this on road for summer. My plans are to put back together and drive for a few summer month then start on body work. My question is to every one who owns a 68 gto convertible as close to original with hide always and factory ac. I have all the restoration books but I'm looking for as many picture of engine bay as possible . Also any of how the front bumber and hideaway set up is bolted and vacume line run. I'm am going to include my email address to make easier for anyone who is willing to help . It's come a long way and that is only because of a lot of folks on this forum . Thanks in advance and I will take any and all pictures of the 1968 gto convertible factory ac car. Thanks in advance. All I have left is the inner and outer front fenders and the whole front bumber assemble .front core support is installed with new bushing. Thank you in advance Doug . [email protected]

I've got a complete 68 hideaway bumper in my shed ... pretty sure it's mostly unmolested .... I'll take a look.

Do you have a 69 assembly manual? Pretty good for getting the routing on wires and hoses even for a 68. Usually very close if not the same.

Sure wish someone, somewhere could find a 68 assembly manual .... I guess it possible they never produced one ... but being a completely new model you'd think they would have had to. It would be worth a fortune if anyone could ever find one.

Well thing are taking longer than we thought. This was our first rebuild and one thing I learned is you can not tag and bag enough. Filling a bag and calling it front bumper does not work. Pictures pictures and more pictures tags and more tags you just can't take enough time to do this lesson is learned. But with the help of a lot of forum members and and my son with most of the hair I had left it is within a few hours more hours of labor of hitting road. We are proud that we have done all of the work ourself. I will be doing body over this winter but my plan was to get a few month of driving this year and I think that will begin next week. Thanks to all who helped will send some pictures as it hits the road. It looks the same on the out side but when you put the hood up better than new. Again a thank you to all that have helped . Doug
