Default 68 Lemans TH350 Question

I have a very original 68 Lemans and have a trans question. Internet research has said Pontiac starting using the TH350 in 69, not 68. Napa, Advance Auto all bring up the TH400 for a 68 Lemans. I got the wrong filter kit at Napa (they gave me the TH400), once I got home I see my car has a TH350 for sure (5 sided pan).

I'll get the right kit eventually, just wondering why the confusion? My Lemans was a June 68 build so maybe it was one of the first with a TH350? Did they install the TH350 in the early 68 cars?

Thanks, just looking for a little history lesson from someone who knows.

Jason
