Replacing my tires are on my list of things to do this winter. If my memory is correct the Cooper Cobras on my car are from somewhere in the mid-nineties, but they probably only have a few thousand miles on them.

Yes...gonna stick with another set of Radial T/As. They're fine tires and I can't complain considering I got 16 years out of the old set. Frankly, any tire that gets to that age, combined with little usage, will suffer the same fate.

Getting the new set installed this Wednesday after work.

A few years ago I bought an original red line spare from Jeff Harper. He told me he pulled it from the trunk of a '68 GTO long ago. I had it mounted on a Rally I that I restored and it sits on display in my office with 10lbs. of air in it. I expect to get lots more use out of it.

As SSJ71 said, it doesn't matter how close you inspect them. I was actually telling the truth about my shoes, but I've also had a set of 10+ year old tires that looked almost perfect and they developed a bubble in them while driving. No dry rot, no cracking, nothing. It sucks because they "MIGHT" be ok this trip. Or the next one. Kind of a Russian roulette. So unless you are just cruising around town at low speeds, I don't think you should risk it, no matter how tempting it is.

Definitely replacing my tires with off season...... Fronts are already purchased.... saving up for rears....
