Roger it was green interior, but the thread in the pattern looked gold! Not sure what the interior code was, would have to look it up?

Thanks for the input everyone, I appreciate learning more about how these cars were equipped back in the day.
Finally getting things ready to move this car forward. Had a good year at Norwalk this year, bought a 1968-1970 M21 trans and a shifter w/ shifter linkage along with some tail light lenses that are in good shape. They will need a *little* reconditioning; there's a small crack in the reverse lens of one side and a crack on the "inside" portion of the other side that can probably be filled/fixed relatively easily. Still happy with them though! As of yesterday, Dad and I pulled the car from its resting place under a locust grove tree and placed it in the garage, where a LOT of work is going to take place. We also pulled a 400 motor with 350 auto trans from another car on the property to get the motor refreshed to put in the car. Now there is NO Excuse for me NOT to do any work out in the shop for the car. I'm excited!  Short-term goal is to get the car movable under its own power. I put a quick post and question out to the guys in the 70-72 group on FB today about which shifter stick will work for this car, and got some great answers! I'll be placing an order sometime soon for a BUNCH of parts to get the engine/trans put together. After getting the car cleaned up and mobile, that's when the bodywork will begin...Still looking forward to it!

I believe the one that got away was a 4 spd, It has been a while but I was about 95 percent certain then it was. I scored a Lucy blue 71 1/2 3 spd a few years back as well. Car is coming along

I have a sweet spot for 71 GT-37's. I had a blue one with white interior and white sword stripe. My car had power discs, power steering, A/C, bucket seats with console. Very cool car! I wish I still had it.
Here is a black one for inspiration!

Dang, so close on a rare version of these cars! You have any pictures of the Lucy blue one you're working on? Awesome to see many others here having a soft spot for these under-the-radar Pontiacs. 67GTO4SPEED, thanks for the inspiration! Every now and then, I try to look up a black GT-37 with a gold stripe to get me pumped for this build. Are there any pics of your GT-37 around? I'd like to see them! Interesting that it had bucket seats, I'm guessing it was changed over from the original bench seat?

Mine is done and my buddies part of the way there. My son has a 71 lemans sport 400 4 spd air 3.36 car as well that is partially done.

Got in the shop tonight and blew off and out a bunch of the crap that accumulated on her over the last year. I'll hit it with a shop vac on Thursday, since I'm subbing for Dad on the bowling league on Wednesdays.
I also started tearing down the engine to see what I'm up against. Some dirt/gunk, some rust, and some strange "formations" on a couple of the intake valves! Pic is upside down, don't know why.
