Before the Indy 500's, they said Firestone and Firehawk SS20 on them. I didn't particularly like the change to putting Indy 500 on them, but they were still a good tire, so I put up with it .

I don't run white letters anymore, but this was when I first painted the car 30 years ago.

Discount Tires and Tire Rack sell Uniroyal Tiger Paws. Wal-Mart has them as well according to their website, there are probably other sources.

Yep, they are available. I actually ordered them online and had my local tire and alignment shop mount them for me.
They also have a perfect area for adding a redline using a product from a place like the one Steve C. linked to earlier in this thread.

I know this thread is about white letters, and not intending on to stepping on toes here but if anyone is interested in removing the white letter look. There is a product that actually works, unlike other on line methods touted. It will not harm tires or come off in time. It's called Tire Black that comes in a spray can to cover the white letters. It is used by Firestone dealers. But they don't sell it at retail; it's for their own use. Find a friendly store manager that will be kind enough to let you borrow a can.

Yeah must be white raised letters for me. Tires and wheels seem to be the first thing people look at, when I’m at a show, or anywhere for that matter. Judges enjoy the effort to have them as part of a factory look. I get a 10 everytime when it’s a points judged show for tires and wheels.

Nothing like giant white letters of some tire brand one never heard of.

I'm on a black sidewall kick these days. But, I could see the retro white letter Firestone look though *LIKE*

I’ve only ever had the ones that came on the cars off the assembly line, that’s why they impress the judges. Most people don’t get that specific about the tires. I see many brands on other. Are I’ve never heard of. Not the case with mine. People recognize them for what they were and are.
