Tri-city plated both '65 Cat bumpers for me, I could not have asked for better results! $700. each, picked them up at Carlisle. Chip even bought 5 cores from us at the show.

Over to many years I have drop off my bumpers to Tri-City plating. They have done a Great job every time. I had my last 70 gto bumper done 1 1/2 ago for 495.00.

Here is a picture of the "backyard". I took this in 2015 while I was there to pick up a load of our bumpers.
BTW, does anyone know if Porter still runs the plating shop? He was a nice, elderly man who had lost sight with one eye.

I wonder how in the world they can ever find anything in a pile like that.

Not sure about a Porter, I dealt with Chip & two other guys, but neither were elderly.

The yard is a bit more organized now, but still a crap load of piles of cores! LOL

I wondered the same, Stuart. But get this, last fall I called Chip to see if he had a front bumper core for a 71 Karmann Ghia. He says he remembers one being out back, but has to take a look. Sure enough, later that day he called me back to say he had one!
They plated it and sent it to me within 3 weeks.

Intuition, you just know.

Even when they're identical, bumpers typically don't stack well. Racking? They're long enough to make that somewhat impractical. Either they hang out (precarious balance) or they hang up (bumper hooks onto shelf while you wrestle with it). Suspended? Wind chimes. It honestly wouldn't surprise me to learn this is the most efficient way to store them.

At any rate, I'm impressed. That's a lot of vintage iron. A comparable stack of modern bumpers would be seriously meh.

Wow, nice! I would love to get my '63 Safari rear bumper done. It's not a show car but would really dress up the rear of the car. The bumper is in excellent shape, no rust, one spot needs a small bend cleaned up so it swhould come out nice. Thanks for the post.
