I've used the Parts Place paint. Somewhat darker but tolerable. I've received PP items from Ames before. Be interesting to see if they use their paint too.

Original on top.

I have an original bezel I had rechromed about 20 years ago. Still holding up great. I got the aluminum insert and wood grain from Ames a few months ago.

The top one is original that came with my car. The bottom one I got from Ames. I know it was cut at the radio but if someone is interested in my original one, I'm willing to part with it. It's just sitting in my garage and I have no use for it.

I see that they recommend one vinyl insert over another in the Ames catalog. Which one did you use?
It appears to have a slightly bigger gap around the instrument openings than the ones I've used in the past? Or is that an illusion?

How did you like the fit and finish when you put it in?
