The Delco/Rochester bulletins dated may 1967 and later have the #7015345 gasket for 1959-66 Pontiac Tri-Power end carbs, and since they work, why not?

The reason for the vented gaskets does not vary from center carb to end carbs or the year of the Tri-Power.

Yes, the closed base gaskets will work OK on end carbs for all years, but the vented gaskets, which are included in all kits also work. I see no downside of using the vented gaskets. It is true, however that the holes added to the throttle plates in the end carbs do create enough air flow to keep the throat of the carbs free of vapors unless there is excessive fuel leakage.

I have new end carb gasket sets. Only have the non-vented version. Where can I obtain the vented gaskets if I choose to use that style? Its a 66 unit

Find some pictures that show both types. It shouldn't take much work with a razor blade to convert non vented to vented gaskets. Actual size of the cutout can't be critical. Just don't make it too big.

#2 is the original style #7015345 non-vented Tri-power end carb gasket.
#1 is the replacement style #7015345.

I use the 7015106 vented gasket on all end carbs and the center carb on ‘66 Tri-Powers.

One can't help but wonder why Pontiac decided to change to the unvented gasket 7015345, for all 1959-66 end carburetors as noted in service manuals from 1967 onwards?
There must be a reason since engineers do things for a reason.

Still, most, if not all, end carbs left the factory with the vented gasket and who knows how many of these got the unvented gaskets when the car was serviced?

BTW, 1966 Olds and 1959-60 Cadillac did not make this change from the vented 7015106 for their end carburetors.

Olds and Cadillac didn't have the same volumes of these end carburetors so maybe they didn't care about the possible problems with the vented gaskets?
