OG The mounts would line up fine just bolting them to the block .. the holes are spaced just fine .. but on my right mount the holes are not centered on the tabs correctly, you go to put it down on the frame mount and the tabs hit the frame mount. I even loosened up the frame mount give it more room to move, still no go. Bear in mind the frame mount is a fixed point, the holes in the engine mount must line up with the block AND the tabs must line up with the frame mount. In my case you could bolt it to the block and it wouldn't fit on the frame mount, or you could fit it to the frame mount and bolt holes wouldn't line up.

I guess there is a possibility the trans mount is way off to one side and the engine is cocked in sideways ... but the previous mounts fit fine. I'll check that tonight .. but the trans mount would probably have to be off 2" to move the motor mount bolt holes that far off. If your engine is not in yet I'd be curious to see how they fit when you put it in .... might work out better as you can bolt on the engine mounts first then crank the tranny mount over to where it belongs. In my case with the engine already in it wasn't as easy. The Chinesium mounts use tabs that are thinner metal so they can scouch back and forth on the frame mount a little to help line up the holes in the block.

Greg, I'd say I'm engaging easily 85% of the flywheel ... and this is not going to be a hard motor to turn over anyway being basically a stock 400. I'm happy with it if only for the fact it would be so much easier to replace or service.

The terminals are still a thousand times easier to get to than they were with the OEM starter, so no real complaints ... I just have put the nut on with a pair of needle nose and then spin it on with my finger.

I guess I could also explain it by saying the tabs are in the wrong place ... but since they are bent pieces of thick metal, and the holes are just drilled ... I figured the mistake is in the location of the holes rather than the bends in the tabs.

These mounts have a very nice (read tight) fit on the frame mounts, no room for error at all ... even the swagging they used to hold the nut on the tab which extended maybe 1/16" into the frame mount gap would prevent them from sliding over the frame mount and had to be ground off for them to drop down onto the frame. They are some seriously strong looking mounts compared to the Chinese stuff.

Yes, me again. Checked the trans mount .. off center maybe 1/8" measuring from mount bolts to inside of frame. So that's not an issue.

Maybe it's just me, but the new mounts seem to hold the engine up the proper location better, fan is very centered in the shroud, plenty of pan clearance to center line etc.
