Is a matter of trrsional forward-backward accelerations. As if a rubber crankshaft. Not a matter of Balance.
Moreso a matter of friction between the pulley& damper surfaces with clamping force by the 4-bolts. I ended up installing with a bit of wet spraypaint. |

The bolts you used look like they are SS not steel. Looking at the link you posted acklands says steel with a black oxide finish?
SS strength is not as good a steel and would ditch those if I were you. The different SS gradings can really vary in tensile strength and their ability to hold your pulley. Both grade 5 or 8 will solve your problem. A good washer under the bolt will help as well. |

Did you take a good look at the back of pulley at the center hub hole? Was it riding the radius and actually never flat on the balancer?

FYI I can’t remember the last time I saw a stock balancer that spun true they almost always have a slight wobble. I have a half dozen stock balancers here with great looking rubber and none of them are perfect true.

Get a Pioneer stock replacement or SFI version.

What to do you ask?
Send yours out to the Damper doctor in CA and get it rebuilt.

I used Damper Dudes (also in CA) on my Buick. I was happy with them.

Sorry guys, I confused the OP and now realize it was another member that posted the link for the bolt specs. Formulas also mentioned the washers previously

One other thing is the end of the balancer snout looks like it's galled. Could be from the rubber but could also be because the balancer needs to be tighten to specs. (150 lb/ft)
