This reminds me why I stopped going to car shows 25 years ago.

The best part is that there wasn't social media and cell cameras everywhere when we were younger and did stupid stuff. I definitely did my share. My thing wasn't as much drag racing (there was some) as it was doing top end runs on the highway and doing some utterly ridiculous (for the time) speeds on them. Mid 2.xx gears gears have their place, and it was in the back of my car at the time. And shame on you, Commonwealth of KY, for having no appreciation for my speeding capability.

And I tend to not get too terribly excited by some shenanigans these days, mainly because I am in a rural area and enjoy the sound of a damn good running car making a hard pull.

This same thing happened in Ocean City Maryland.
The cops just started impounding cars. Huge fine and storage fees.
Low riders and fart cans were easy pickins.

Remember the video of the car doing donuts on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge?

They almost canceled the event.

You think your laws are strict...Ontario's new stunt driving laws cover not just roads, but "public spaces".
Even empty or abandoned parking lots are now covered under these laws.
You could be charged for simply doing a brake check in an empty/abandoned lot at 6AM on a Sunday morning.

All this due to the intersection and mall lot "takeover" kids.

That said, most police here respect the classic cars and the effort it takes to maintain/restore our cars.
Usually I get the "thumbs-up" from them. The only times I have been stopped, has been to inquire if the car was for sale.
