Dragncar, seeing your not going to make it to the track this year what you should do is buy yourself one of dragging daddy’s. Their pretty accurate.

This is about the only thing I have seen you post here that is actually correct.

Laughing out loud I was wondering how long it was gonna take for you to jump in. You make it to obvious.

Unfortunately for you Stan the majority don’t see it your way, I know that hurts. Keep trying though.

I’d like to hear from you…your big dissertation on why a 1050 actually flows 1130 cfm, as per Dragncars claims. I talk to Patrick at Pro Systems he’d love to hear your explanation.

Come on Stan get your formulas out punch in your program, we are all ears. Instead of coming after me maybe you could try and answer the OP question, or maybe you can create a formula for that. I know I know your still a David V student. I heard through the grapevine that one of the formulas that you have you actually stole from Dragncar. At least that’s what he told me once. And here I thought he was your buddy.

Gach,

Did you even read this post (I snipped it down)? You do know that Pontiac actually installed vacuum gauge in some of their cars.

Actually I am getting my own private day at the track. Timing equipment might not be there but if I bring the right friend we just might hook it all up and have a day.

Troy.
I don't remember. Do you have data logging on your car.

That wasn’t the answer to OP question, (plug heat range.) Is what he asked, I mean come on going from a 1050 to a 850 is definitely going to make less hp, the motor was dyno and dyno guys telling him he needs a colder plug.

No, might get one of theses.https://www.gtechpro.com/

Not a smartphone guy and these do not use cell towers like a Draggy.
But the website is not showing what they used to. Not sure if I can still get one.

I could put a Grid in her with all the stuff, but about 3K.

Charlie‘s got one maybe he’ll let you borrow it. I do know his four-cylinder making 800 hp 200 hp per cylinder showed a 12.60 ET with the drag daddy.

You need to stop all this stupid lame attempt at humor. You think you can make stuff up and its not a big deal.
You need a shrink.
1050s flow, on a flow bench @ 12"V 1213cfm dry, no fuel and 1121 cfm wet, with fuel.
A 850 flows 1030 cfm dry and 956 cfm wet.
These are with polished venturies and milled throttle shafts with adds about 30 cfm.
You just learned something today.

Gach,
Sorry but that has been answered. No you can not just guess what changes will do or want. The engine will tell you. If the OP can can read his spark plugs then he needs to find someone who can.

Nothing you say goes over my head. Only in your mind.
I have no plans to beat and beat on this engine pushing stock block limits. I can but a bigger carb on and see what it will make and that will be fine.
All the stuff I did was to get the most power out of what I had.
And that oil pump and pickup you keep blabbering about got my a instant 100 lbs oil pressure with 30 WT and a nice 80lbs with 10-30.
But you talked so much untrue stuff about it in my thread you got it closed.
You know, try and learn and help others learn.
But, you "Gached" it, your MO.

Holley rates their carbs at 1.5" hg. If an engine at WOT peak RPM pulls more than 1.5"hg the carb will flow more cfm than its rating. Then why go to a large carb? It take work from the engine to pull 1050 cfm @ 2.5" hg that it does at 1" hg. The increase in HP from a carb change can roughly be calculated based on the difference in pressure differential.

Gach,
The vacuum gauge reading is what the engine is saying about how it like that carb size.

Yes it did it went right over your head. You trying to dispute little picky points like oil pump and pressure it produces. Which has nothing whatsoever to do with a meaning of my post. I mean you spent three years building this morning with your big dream of having the must powerful stroker pump gas motor. 700 + hp. That in the real world is never going to materialize. Because your excuse now is you’re paranoid about the block and after all you’re going to be doing is bracket racing.
