Sounds like you’re on the right path, enjoy what you have & start driving it asap. I made the mistake of tearing down my 71 Skylark just to chase an electrical short, one thing led to another & the car sat for 10 years until I had to sell it when we moved. Never again, when I bought my current LeMans I bought it to DRIVE, I refuse to tear it down so I while I accumulate a bunch of parts I’m still enjoying it. During the winter I do whatever projects I accumulated in the summer & don’t make it so that it can’t be driven when spring comes.

For the sake of still being able to call it a 400 you could put a stroker kit in it. Still says 400 on the block but the internals say 461.

Run that 455 and enjoy it. Build the 400 for a spare
