Pontiac - Street No question too basic here!

Default Timing Gear Marks - #1 or #6?
Been a long time since I’ve done any engine work…..
If the timing gear marks are together, that’s firing on number 6 and if the cam gear mark is at 12:00, that’s firing on number 1.
Do I have that right?
