I am not an expert, but with the OP running the same heads in a 462, I felt comfortable giving my personal experience. FWIW - a 433 isn't that much smaller than mine. My gear change was not about poor performance - easily lit the tires up at will with the 3.42's. I just am spending more time on interstates and really not worried about smoking the tires. With the 3.08's I can still smoke the tires when/if I want to. With my 2.56 first gear, my effective gear ratio is 7.9. If anything, I'd consider going to 9.5:1 compression. Cliff stated he had experience with the 60243 in a 400. Maybe he'll chime in. |

OK...
Old combo 463 9.25-1 96 heads cleaned up rpm 850 QFT XE284 cam - I KNOW. Made 443hp / 532 t. .Nosed over n dyno at 4700 rpm. The valve springs were not enogh for the XE grind. It had a gnarly idle. I believe there are better choices for a cam. It propelled a 3720lb car to 11.98 / 109.5 The car devoloped a thrust issue but I intended to try the 60919. |

You mean it’s amazing now that you solved your fuel supply restriction issue.

My 455 #96 head combo was an attempt to get the most power in a drivable form. Its a lot of fun, but I would still enjoy it if it was a bit more tame.
