Another great vintage pic - RL206 CF-105 on the line Fitted with the all powerful Orenda Iroquois engines combined 30,000 + lbs of thrust -1959 - never got to fly as everything was cut up for scrap --Shame - - the only thing saved was the nose section by a mystery person or persons - it now sits at the Canadian Aviation Museum .
To bad - first fly by wire etc. next Fighter to have this capability was the F-14 Tomcat .

How fast was it projected to fly? I'd guess mach 3? That is what the F-108 Rapier and XB-70 speed was. Same time/development frame.

I put some tires on the CF-105 that was under restoration a few years ago, hope it got into the museum in Ottawa.
