Well, well, well, what have we here? 69 Firebird Trans AM clone at $55K BIN OBO in Michigan. If you ever wanted to build one of these, you would have to do so much work to get it to this point. The way I read the ad, it's a NM 400 to start with and they have the engine and a lot of parts, like long branch exhaust manifolds. Has the bow in the rear wing repro issue, but looks like it's almost all there. It wouldn't take too long to finish. Pretty good deal for what you're starting with, which is to start completing it. I don't think it matters, but the block code looks sketchy due to stamping 040 across it.

This one looks like a good deal aye. 88 Pontiac Trans AM GTA at $13.5K BIN in Ontario, Canada. Claims to have $25K in receipts for a rebuilt engine and new paint. Doesn't get much cheaper.

Burgundy/black 69 GTO in CA at $27K BIN. It's been repainted and I don't think the color is right. Solid CA body is a big plus.

67 Firebird in Nevada at $55K BIN. Ad states it's "untouched", which isn't true, cause it's heavily modded. It comes with the original 326, but going back starting at $55K is a ruse. It's built the way cool cars were in the late 70's and early 80's, with fat tires and go faster stuff. It's nice, but in thiseconomy, $55K is a pipe dream. Cars like this were the bomb back in the day, but I don't need to run a sub 11 second quarter going to the grocery store.

The ad says the pathetic looking seat covers are original. The engine also has 092 heads on it. Those 2 easy facts make me doubt everything related to the car. It looks nice but needs looked at very carefully.

I dunno, there's a death in the family that forces the sale. The person who built it is prolly gone, so I suspect the family doesn't know the details. The body looks mint to me, and in black, that's hard to do. For what it is, aside from the crappy pics, a gem could be had IMO even if it has subtle issues that don't make it perfect.

The 69 FB convertible also has the add on hood tach in black. Never understood why folks didnt at least rattle can in a close color before bolting those on

67 Firebird 326 4-speed in Illinois at $53.5K. Claims to have a "CONCOURS-LEVEL" restoration, which costs a lot. The problem is what you start with vs. what you wind up with. Do all that work to a plain Jane car, and no matter how nice it is, it's still a plain Jane. Nice and shiny tho. There's a lot of cars I'd rather have for this much coin.

The incorrect stuff is what kills it. Wrong center caps on the wheels, 400 hood, hood tach, Camaro spoiler, stupid ass sticker on the air cleaner, Not PFDB (safety should be #1) and some of the gaps are not crisp (look at the front bumper). 1) Make a plan 2) Execute the plan 3) If it makes you money roll with #2. If it's a negative ROI, it's not worth doing it. This car will prolly never be driven 100 more miles, because it's over restored. Nice car and really pretty, but $50K is a lot and we're heading into a recession. Lots of cool cars will pop up if that happens for much less. I used to detail cars when I was 17, and this one is outstanding on the wax job. Don't drive over that puddle, cause it'll take hours to get it back to where it was. Ever hear that joke about how not driving a trailer queen is like not sleeping with your gf? /notPCreference
