That's nuts! I don't get it. I cannot believe what parts are going for. For that kind of money I can find a beat up 77 Trans am with the flares on it. Whip of the flares off, sell them and have a free car. Yes I know they are NOS but after you prep them and paint them, a used set looks exactly the same. There must be a lot of guys with money to burn.

I don't think it's that unrealistic of a price.
Personally,I thought they'd go HIGHER!

Any "beat-up" 78 & earlier T/A that I find has broken or missing fronts & the back ones have rusted fasteners that usually tear right out of the spoiler when you try & remove them.

30 year old "used" ones usually require some work (cracks & previous repairs)

From what I understand,the fit of any of the repro's is not that great,so a full set of NOS for a 70-73 SHOULD command a GOOD price. JMO

I agree, not too bad of a price, especially considering the price of other nos items.

That price is right in line with where the parts trade individually.The NOS spoilers have always brought $500'ish and that leaves approx. $210 for each NOS flare, which they normally are worth $250 to $350 so I think "mr. dozerboys" sort of got an ok deal..
and that 77 TA you could buy for this kind of money isn't in the same ball part. these early 70's parts were different and are increasingly difficult to come by, especially in NOS condition. Glad I have my NOS sets..

Wasn't the last retail price of GM wheel spoilers around $250? And that was for the later dark grey Hecho en Mexico version. These look like the earlier Made in USA versions which are more desireable.

you can get 3 on ebay now for 50.00.oh the front is cracked and the back of the rears have the holes broken.

for a driver fight with the repoes,but for that 70-74 don't go cheap on the parts that stand out.for that 73 SD,i'd pay the price.luckly i got mine several years ago for 600 a set.

I'm a SUCKER for dark green "rubber nosed" birds with saddle interiors,probably because I own one.

Can't say as I've ever seen a Laurentian Green 71 with Saddle deluxe interior before & I'm likin' it, ALOT!

It appears that they pressed all the right buttons on the order sheet EXCEPT for WU3 (RAM AIR).

This one WINS the Drag Race standing STILL,and we all know it would KICK the SD's BUTT in a drag race,RIGHT?

If the car IS actually everything the seller claims it is,the price really ISN'T out of line.

Love the late 60's 8-track in the glove box.

Just spotted the replacement rad support,so I'm guessing it took a little hit in nose,but fenders appear to be originals.

The font/size of numbers on the block VIN stamps(?) looks a bit OFF to me.

Ditto! "Dis cah's a monstah" LMAO! I do love the sound of that M22 whining in the background though. And I love the color combo. I do belive his price is a bit on the high side - I'm thinking in this market more like $40K. Nothing is bringing top dollar right now.

This car is why I think Formulas are cool. They came in so many flavors. Every once in a while one comes up that, you think you've seen all the combo's, and one pops up that knocks your socks off. This one does that, wow. That car has X factor appeal and rarity. Somehow the no Ram Air fits the character of the no spoiler car, just a subtle all business bird, but with 4 speed air no less.... and what a color, outrageous.....

The ORIGINAL window sticker & Protect-o-Plate certainly add alot of credibility to this car.

I just realized that it was built with the optional Y99 suspension package which gave you 15" wheels /tires with Trans am swaybars & springs.(with trim rings which are NOT listed on invoice, hiding those KR Rally II's)

Also notice the LACK of C24 (concealed wipers)

I'll bet this was a "customer order" car.

That's really a nice looking car. 455 HO Formulas are becoming more and more scarce as the years go by. That car was optioned out quite well. It's neat to see all of the performance features found on the Trans Am wrapped up in a Formula package.

One thing I couldn't help noticing is that in the text, the seller advertises that it still has it's "original Polyglas spare tire" in the trunk. The picture shows a Goodyear Polyglas GT G60-15 tire in the trunk. The correct tire size for that car should be F60-15, so I'm sure that's not the original spare.

If you check the bottom of the invoice,note that it HAS W54 Custom Trim option.

That IS 71 Custom Trim,with pull straps on the doors and Comfortweave inserts in the seats. It's hard to see the comfortweave texture in the seat inserts.

Why don't you drive one of your 73's down there & see if he'll race you?

I'd like to see that one on YouTube.

Also,the "original" spare tire (with incorrect trim ring) is not so original,being a G60.

Wait ...... You fogot the part that this is the fastest car pontiac ever built.He said he did'nt care what others thoght about Super Duties and that this was an easy low 13 second car.I like the car,but I need the functional Ram Air.If your gonna load one up,why would you forget that?

I don't think for one MINUTE that the functional Ram Air was forgotten.
Both the purchaser & selling dealer likely didn't realize that it WASN'T included with the "big stove" (455 HO). That's probably why it doesn't have concealed wipers.

In 1972,pontiac corrected this & the 455 HO (LS5 $231.00) engine option in a W66 required purchasing additional options of Hood Air Inlet (WU3 $56.00) AND Unitized Ignition (K65 $77.00)

I'm sure that's WHY there seems to MORE 71 455 HO Formula's out there WITHOUT the factory installed functional Ram Air than WITH.
