Tires and a slipping clutch! They would be in 5's and 250 plus. Short wheel base and all.

Default My First car
My first car, 1967 Firebird 326. In my parent's driveway, about 1969 or 70.

My current Firebird is better than this car in every possible way - and I trade it in a minute for the one in the pic. :sigh:

ahhh, I don't think so. It ran good for its day but, an 8 or 9 second car is not going to runs 5s with tires and a slipping clutch. I think it was IVO who first ran in the 7s in '63 by slipping the clutch. Wishful thinking though.

That crazy week in April 1964, when The Beatles dominated the charts, something that was never seen again. In a week or two they had 14 songs in the top 100.



Even Paul was surprised. Either that, or he's never seen a set like this before.

Big Bob, in his short-lived Plymouth Arrow Pro Stocker:







WJ had a lot of different cars, but this is one my favorites, his 1987 Olds Firenza. I saw this car several times in person, and it looked downright puny next to the rest of the Pro Stock field, consisting of Thunderbirds, Camaros, and Cutlasses. WJ could never get this thing to go straight because of the short wheelbase, but when it did, it set many et and mph records. Just wasn't consistent enough to win.
