thanks!...I did and its running better...so the trunk and spoiler are aligned...my car saw a lot of city traffic and it was either hit or backed up somewhere in the left quarter or bumper...it could not have been major as just a new bumper(still has the GM sticker) was replaced...there was bondo on the quarter and the silver repaint when I got the car in 1985...the trunk drop offs were shot and rust on the lower quarters...I took the originals off, modified Camaro drop offs lined up GM N.O.S. 1/4s and my brother welded them on.(easy to tell as no dimple spot welds under lip)..I had a new tail panel but decided against it as too much work and losing alignment..so filler is on the lower part of the tail...the trunk I just flattened as best I could, spread some filler and used a black sound deadner spray...so the trunk on the left side will always be less than perfect...since no rust I did not want to get into a major trunk panel replacement...I need to seam seal new trunk drains and I got a new trunk mat so the inside of the trunk is done..I do need to spray sound deadner on inner quartrers as GM did...I know some have real nice finished off trunks with splatter but in my case a new mat will be better..I installed my power window motors just to see if I remember...KEEPPAT had a window reinstall that's excellent for standard widows (page 10 ??)...but similar..I took photos and will post...I also installed a test glass on the RH side ,,so one power window and power door locks work...new side glass is $135 each so its worth it as mine have the typical scratches...the front window is fine and looks original...I plan to reinstall the rear glass (most likely will have it installed as others have recommended urethane seal)..I need to repair the defogger electric braid..need some moulding studs installed first..I am trying to reseal the interior for now...I will install a new rear package tray..then rear seats are done and finish interior...the inside of the car was kept original as will the underside...so just the exterior will be repainted one day I hope...if it works out and I get to keep my car forever and see it through painted Cameo white after I am gone the next person could always paint it Lucerne bluean no one will know..thats why I will not install aa crash handle on the dash as the interior could go back to standard...the LEGENDARY deluxe is awesome...I did the rear seats as they are easy...so LEGENDARY is to thank for the interior...the motor is ready to start..I just want a mechanic I know to be here to double check and timing etc....I have not dared to turn the key just to check the starter...needs a new muffler...so far the only thing not working is the rear speaker..it did then stopped..it was a new N.O.S. but I hope it went bad from sitting..so I will need to send it out to get checked and I damaged the cone cover but they can be repaired...so some photos to follow....peace

although not original, the trunk mat is from LEGENDARY and was listed as 1972...I had to put a cut out for the jack secure tab..its kinda funky and has a jute backing...but it is padded...it works for now...I wonder how well the repop rubber mats are....

is the best!!..about 3xs heavier, denser than O.E,M (as advertised)...major replacement when redoing front buckets...that's why I need a Trim Shop to install...they use steam, etc..these seat frames are 1971...same as 72...short story...I wanted 70 low backs and sent my original standard off with my 70 Esprit..a boy could still dream in 1990...fast forward to all the correctness and I got these frames ..but a P.Y. member before that sold me like 79 seats as they are all the same...NOT!!..thanks for the not knowing...wish I could remember who it was but I try to put this all past...but the seats will be SUPER!!

was done by P.Y. member Randy Combs...for $150 he can redo your 1970 to 81 bezel and control plates...outstanding work and I really glad I got the bezel taken care of as the heater control and switches plate were real bad with that funky finish when it goes bad after 40 plus years..so check out his website RANDY COMBS TRANS AM DASH BEZEL RESTORATION for photos on how its done and if you have ever considered getting the bezel back to brand new.his service I would highly recommend...he is the NORWOOD of dash bezels,,,as NORWOOD is the king of metal fabrication and other resto talent!!

I also got my LEGENDARY seat covers picked up from the trim shop...realy the covers fit perfect but the installer really knew what he was doing as LEGENDARY designed the rear lower seat frame cover slightly different than the originals...1971 & 72 bottem seat frame covers use material to cover the rear bucket cushion frame...1973 & later use a plastic cover that matches a redesigned plastic rear upper seat frame back...so 71 & 72 are the only years for the material lower covers with upper plastic seat backs...1973 upper seat back covers are repoped....I sent my plastic backs out to JUST DASHES and they sand the grain off and a new grain plastic covering is vacuum formed over the back...so they said 8 to 10 weeks so perhaps in 6 weeks I get them back..I am very interested to see the finished product..this was really my only option at having the seat backs restored...the charge was $300 for the pair...as soon as I get the carpet dyed I can get the seats installed...the passanger seat is not hooked together in the photos as I need to pick up some more washers that prevent material wear when the seat backs are moved forward...the new A.C.I. seat foamgives a whole new life to the seats...I got to recommend A.C.I. only and stay away from less expensive knock offs...A.C.I. has there name stamped on them...for the first time since 1994 which was when I stopped working on the TRANS AM on a weekend at my parents garage on and off from 1990 does the interior bring back my memories of when I first got the car...to actually sit in it with a steering wheel is a big deal!!!..remember I had lowback seats uninstalled (sent you a P.M. CATC)...as I parted out my original standard buckets in 1994...and I just had standard door panels...the new deluxe door panels and seat covers, new steering wheel and 1970 style chrome bezels is the look I was hoping for and after almost 2 years from finding a excellent pair of replacement 1972 seat frames from P.Y. member BRIAN STARR (thanks!!) and getting the materials as I could its finally taking look I wanted..the cost to redo the interior is staggering and it still needs a headliner and floor mats etc...I do not want to add it all up as most likely half of the cost of this car...but the look of deluxe interior is worth it...why she only got a handful of options, but major convienience ones and no deluxe is beyond me..her husband the salesman probably thought resale value with the a/c and auto and cheaped out on getting her the deluxe interior....they could have saved me a fortune!!!!

LEGENDARY gets the credit for the interior...the upper door panel bolsters match the seats (very cool!!) and the seat covers are super high quality material and the front and rear seat inserts actually have all the deluxe seat padding built into the cover...the standard covers have like none as are the upper door panels that had no padding...the original owner did take excellant care of the interior and you can see no scratches or marks on the original lower door panel map pockets...the upper rear plastic sail trim is original but I replaced the lower passenger 1/4 trim panels for a brand new look...I still need to add ashtrays at $33 each!!..see what I mean...my N.O.S 2nd design Formula steering wheel with an early style collar was $700...I originally wanted to use the LECARRA leather wrap but after 6 months this person finally agreed to sell this wheel to me...its very difficult and expensive restoring a T/A and I know I will always be criticized for things incorrect..I think the N.O.S wheel works and to find a N.O.S. early fat wheel was impossible and most likely 3xs the cost of this one...none were ever offered for sale and what I want to do to this one is have it wrapped in leather like the 10th anniversary T/As...my first girlfriend was a seamstress at 17 and she covered my first 76 T/A wheel in leather and I always thought it added such an improvement over the fake stitching of the wheels...so this wheel will get a $180 leather wrap..I know its not correct but sometimes we must compromise on a budget unless a reasonably priced Formula wheel turns up I need to use this one...plus I still have the original wheel and although the rim has the usual wear RANDY COMBS can restore the spokes...so I have the original parts if I ever need to reverse most custom touches..but I really just borrow ideas from other year made T/As...I would never do it but I wish that I had a 1974 style sealt belt retractor system...my orignal seat belts look pathetic how they just lie on the floor but I have the 72 first design standard...thank god my seat belts were fine...I saw a original restored complete 1972 deluxe set for $800 on e bay..seat belt resto cost is crazy that's why when I see a car that needs everything I think people forget how much it is going to cost in addition to the insane price a seller is asking for a TRANS AM...you could spend $40 k and not even be finished...anyway I want to get someone to install the rear glass to seal things up as I need to unfocus on the T/A and I may be going to school for a new career as my job loss created my problems I am in but Monday I find out or you may see me dropping American fries at Mc Donalds.....

one of my rear passanger seat belts was installed incorrect on the line...it has a twist...that's one of the things like, do you install it correct or it was born this way?!...since I will most likely not be riding in the back I will leave it..but an interesting mistake I need to post a photo of..also when LEGENDARY sent the covers they include the rear hump cover...I was not certain I would have ordered one but as it came for free so to speak and it was a perfect match to the original with jute backing I installed it..really this companys products are such duplicates of the factory or better...they had to get originals and make patterns...but cool they nail the detals!!
