Had the steering alignment checked on the computer alignment rack at the shop where I take my alignment work. Pretty much spot on, except a 1mm adjustment for toe on one side.
Those home alignment tools you can buy are surprisingly accurate! And of course, on the way home I found out the fuel gauge doesn't read properly....ran out of gas. I thought the electric pump had thrown in the towel (its a Carter, I should have known it wasn't the pump).....thought there'd be some gas in it, so I threw 20 litres in it just to be sure.....started right up. Then I filled the tank and couldn't fit more than a total of 65 litres in it....which seemed down on what I'm used to with my 77 T/A. So THAT made me think the pickup wasn't getting maybe 10 litres of fuel in the bottom of the tank (RobbMc pickup).....I'm thinking I'd have to mod something to pick up the fuel. Then.....I read the owner's manual. Seems the 70-73 tank is smaller than I'm used to (stands to reason - the trunk is deeper than my 77's), and that 65 litres is all there is - I ran it completely dry. Bone head play of the day......

Was that you on the Go-Kart then getting gas?
Just saw that on the news!! Sucks running out of gas, hopefully the fuel gauge will be an easy fix for you.

Do you run a digital fuel gauge? , Is the deflection ( range) based on 90 ohm (OEM style) fuel sender? Another member and I have been in conversation about his digital gauges in regards to the tank unit...adding resistance if needed to get the reading correct

Its an analogue gauge....seems its reading just over half full when "full", then the reading goes up and it was reading full when it was empty.
Going to talk to an instrument / electrical guy I know for some thoughts.

have him figure what resistance you need with that gauge to work with the 90 ohms in the tank. May need a known quantity of fuel. Last one i did i used an electric pump so we could watch the gauge move, Good luck, dont be running out of petrol!

I had a DSE made radiator support brace set (for a Camaro) that I bought when it was advertised on Classic Industries site as for a Firebird.....so, I thought I'd give it a go and see if it would fit up.
Surprisingly, it does fit, even though the instructions never mention the Firebird word. I mounted it using Rivnuts, as there is no access to the rear of the fender for a spanner where I mounted it....but the Rivnuts work great. I used them on the rad support as well. Yeah.....I'm aware its a bit dirty, time to start cleaning and detailing, I think. I also got the chance today to run the car on the highway and check the speedometer reading against the GPS. It ran nicely, very smooth at 60-70mph. I recorded the indicated vs actual speed and made the appropriate corrections to the dip switches on the electronic speedo. Hopefully, it should be pretty close to correct now.

lol. Thanks.
Actually, I had to reposition the rad support end brackets under the support...seems there is almost no clearance at that spot between the hood and the rad support.
