That sounds reasonable.

If he isn't Fred Simmonds. I doubt any others had access to ALL Pontiac records. Including PHS that have been known to miss some.
Wasn't there a 74 SD Formula without a X in vin on PHS? Stuff happens...

I know the original prototype SD455 T/A that is now in Australia was not an X-code car. But that was a Pontiac in-house mule that eventually got sold off. (I wonder how the restoration on that car is going? We haven't heard anything in a while)

Hi Steve,
When i bought my car my wife was pregnant with our first child. We had 3 in 3 years after that. 2 boys and a girl. I lost my father early 2017 unexpectedly so that made for an even busier year with my mother and slow year for the car. I Have continuously been sourcing and buying parts and that can be an exhausting process in itself. Been trying to complete all the parts to make the motor complete and correct. Last few bits were timing cover, water pump, valley pan. Brads put aside some other parts for me like the emmissions piping, pulleys and thermostat housing. Getting this car correct is a mission in itself with so many one year only pieces but i feel i am on track with where i wanted to be. I hoped for a 10 year resto and i am half way so i have to keep the momentum going. Parted a wrecked 76 TA that me and dad bought before he passed. I will have to make an update on the thread soon but haven't really had the time to sit and write and upload pics. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

Sorry to hear about your father's passing.
Congrats on the kids. You must REALLY have your hands full now. We'd love an update on the thread, even if it is to just give a list of parts that you are still in need of. I'd be happy to assist and I know a bunch of other guys here would be as well. |

https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0912-14...la-super-duty/ I remember that car now, it was here in the DFW area and I spoke to the owner at the time NJSteve was looking for his current SD Formula. It was Dennis from Gas Monkey Garage that owned it then and he sent some pics and info including the PHS to me at that time. I posted about it somewhere on this forum at the time. I found the post now, have to download the PHS and scroll down: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...96#post4602596

74 Blue/Blue 4speed Super Duty Trans Am seems like a real good prospect at that price.
If anyone gets further details or engine pics , share with the class please. Thanks |

Car was relisted at 63k or best offer. I'm guessing it sold for 60k.
When he relisted at 63k... I would've pulled the trigger but couldn't get over the color combo.

It's a great car , no doubt about that in my mind.
If it ever gets repainted , i hope someone has the decency to delete the vinyl top. It is so out of place with that combo it makes the car look cheapo / freako. i think its appearance hampered the curb appeal bidding value by anywhere from 10-15k alone. Extending a HUGE Congratulations to whomever bought it. Probably about the best example of a 73 Formula SD that has been publicly offered in many years. Anything under 65k was a good fair deal. |

So, it's gone...from m 115k to 60ish is quite a range.

I'm at Norwalk. I noticed a red SD Trans Am,auto non air condition, from Canada. Got talking to owner he is second owner. Never seen this before. Car is all original except battery. The unique things,no Trans Am decal on one front fender!! Also car was built with air conditioning vents in lower dash but non air car. Car looks all original 19k.He wants to sell car.He has paper trail from original owner.
