It's the stock lift sd cam. Modified duration I believe, have cam sheets at home. NHRA stocker grind.Bought many yrs ago.I'm at Dayton, forget the actual no.It seems strong bottom end.Using stk SD valve springs. They have ckd right for specs. However I wonder if a better spring would help? Got any for sale? Thanks Bob.I'll clarify. I have an original SD that is stock from factory. Then a have 70 w SD that I put together, that's the car I fool with at the strip.th as t has the HO stocker cam.

Default SD in the rain.....

Visiting with my friend in Seattle.....

His 74 SD was our "driver" for the past few days....

We had it down to the Lemay Open House/car show...Lucky Car Auction today in Tacoma......and I got to drive it back.....had the opportunity to "clean the plugs"...a few times....

Coming back from Famous Daves for dinner.....it was raining and we came to the realization that we were prolly the ONLY people on the PLANET that were cruising around in the RAIN in a 74 SD T/A.....They ARE challenging to drive in the rain....

It WILL be going back in the garage next week.

Nice that it's being driven - better than being a big die cast in the garage.

Thumbs up

A little "rear passing front wheels" hydroplaning action in ANY 2nd gen Bird "puts hair on your chest" and makes for some memorable bench racing stories, eh?

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Back in the late 90's... I drove my '77 T/A to work a few times in the snow... no chains or snow tires...as those are for pussies ... It was interesting and I was wide awake when I got to work..

need to transfer some old my old pictures to digits and upload to my computer, one is a picture of a blue 71 covered in snow in the driveway, where I had just gotten home.

I drove a TA everyday through everything year round in New England from 89- about 99 as did my wife. I had a specially built slug for just that a bunch of "junk" parts put together for a super fast 301 2 bbl with 2.41 gears. I think just about everything passed it, it did not have much of an issue spinning the tires even with snow.

FWIW......I have a new HC-62 that I aquired from Ken Crocie a few years ago. I had planned to use it in my red car but as most folks know, I no longer own the SD so I have no use for the cam.
Send me a PM if interested in obtaining it.

Ken, do you have the specs on the HC-62 cam???
I think it's basically a RA4 spec. with wider lobe separation, right?

The HC-62 was a modernized version of the RA4 but with quicker ramps and a little more dur. @ .050" and .200" lift and a little more lobe lift. We had several tweaks of the HC-02/62 over the years, so I cant give you an exact # but most likely 232int/244 ex. with 465int. 469 ex. lift, and 139/141 deg. @ .200". I went thru all my old CamDoc files from 1990 , but didn't find one for the HC 62. Lobe sep was in the 113-114 range.

Thanks Ken.
You may remember that this is the SD cam I bought from you a while back that I had planned to put in the red car.

I run the HC-03 in the 74 sd currently. Its a fun cam but probably switch out to a roller design in the future.
