Nice car though even with the ultra tight disco shirt ..that plastic valence makes the front end look great |

Yeah. That valence is a must! I bought a repro from the Parts Place. The paint shop didn't have anything nasty to say, so I'm hoping it's pretty nice.
You can't blame Mikal for the shirt either. After all it was the crazy '70s and he was from the the Bay Area of California! Since he scored a Super Duty he deserves all the slack in the world! |

Ive used a parts-place valance due to I wanted to save my original from a hit since I drive the car.
It did take some modifications but I didnt feel it was that bad. We even did it on another friends car and put his perfect original on the wall of his garage. Ive offered him a thousand dollars for that valance but it still hangs on his wall(collecting dust). Those originals in perfect shape are a really fine and expect to pay top dollar (but do it if you can cause there worth it). |

I'll let you guys know how it turns out. They have my sheet metal one there for reference if they need it, and they are a talented crew, so I'm fairly certain they can pull it off.

You can see the fiberglass material in the conveniently blurry rear section photo. The factory polyethylene valance was smooth and thick in the main body of the valance and very thin on the outer edges. Feel free to refer to the photos in my posting for close up reference of how they look on the back side of the valance. This guy is trying to get a lot of money for a non-original part.

Do you have a pic njsteve? You are right, his pic's are blurry. I asked him about them. Let's see if he replies.

This is an early reproduction valance before Parts Place was on the map.
The originals never came in black first off and never had the rough inside finish. I've seen one of these on a guys Brewster SD at the Nationals from Penn and I think his name is Eric ? looked alright from the outside but once you looked down between the core support it was wow! thats not right. SD73, tell your paint guy not to clear the inside due to it suppose to have a dull plastic look compared to the outside. |

Good advice, thanks Brew! I made the call and they've taken note. The car will be ready (or so they say) next Thursday. Just in time for me to get it back then leave the country for a week and a half. Oh the agony!
