Note the different width in the four mounting bosses on top. These bosses interlock into similarly sized recesses in the bottom of the endura nose. The Parts Place valance makers did not pay attention to this fact. The bosses on their valance will not fit without being cut, back braced, filled and repaired. As the late Johnnie Cochran would say: "If the part don't fit, the nose looks like s**t" |

One of these years I need to start listing my stuff in the for sale section. My problem is I'd rather trade than sell so I don't have a huge amount of motivation.

Hi,
Im new to your forum but having spent the last 4 hours reading some very interesting threads, I would like to join in! Has anybody come across an (original) SD cam from a 74 stamped with an "A" as opposed to the usual "Y"? Were any other motors fitted with the smaller distributor drive gear cams? Lastly, are you still looking for an original valve cover decal to get reproduced? (mentioned earlier this year). Cheers Guys......

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry about the delayed reply but even though I suffer from insomnia 5am is about my limit!
Ive tried to upload pictures but it fails each time. The files are too large and I dont know how to shrink them! any guidence?? The cam I mentioned stamped "A" is definately the original cam from an untouched 74 SD455 and the lobe profiles match a NOS SD cam I have, as does the distributor drive gear on the cam. Whats with the "A"????

open the photo in Microsoft "paint"....
With the pic displayed, scroll across the top to "image"... Within "image", notice "stretch" and "skew".... Here is where you set the percentage of reduction for the pics. Keep your percentages the same in order to keep the pics proportional. You may have to experiment a bit until the right size is acceptable to post.

Thanks for the help Larry!
Both of these cars have been magazine featured here in the UK (Classic American) on a couple of occasions. Still cant believe I actually own them!! I will post a pic of the 71 455HO T/A soon but the 73 455 is currently getting full PPG paint, so no pics available just yet. You guys would be suprised at the number of Quality muscle cars there are in the UK, even with fuel running at $9 - $10 a gallon currently! On behalf of the rest of the UK's American car owners, thanks for making them!!!!

Very nice! I'll be vacationing in your part of the country next week. It's nice to know the Pontiac hobby is so well represented out there, although you may be single handedly tipping the scales!

I've only seen the 'Y' cam.
I assume you're talking of the small gear on the cam, the RA V engines had the smaller gear cam with the bigger gear on the distributor.

Welcome UK!
Did your 73 Formula used to be owned by a guy with the last name of Stephenson? The reason that I ask is that, through work, I met a guy named Alex Stephenson, who's son or nephew used to own a white 73 SD Formula. He sent me a couple of pictures of the car from the 80s. I can't image there being too many white 73 SD Formies in the UK.
