Note the heavily padded full door panels covering the insides. No exposed metal with the doors closed.

That's the Surfrider 1967 GTO show car.

This is the Skydiver 1967 Firebird 400 with a custom two-toned orange/white interior. The design looked like parachute pleats, and the display base for the show car looked like an open parachute. The dashboard, carpet, door panels, console, everything was orange. Even had an orange 8-track tape player and an orange shift ball.

Hey, it was the 60's, what else can we say.....

Wow, that's a nice LeMans ragtop! Love the wire wheel covers.

That second pic is interesting. I'm surprised the interior survived long past the show circuit. Looks like the car had a color change to blue...

Looks delicious.

Reminds me of those orange & white creamsicles.

The Chicago Tribune has a feature today about the riots that occurred
after MLKs assassination in 68.. Crazy times are more often then wed think..

Looking through the pics was kind of surprised to see 2 Pontiacs in the
20 or so pics.. 1 an unknown 67 and a 1962 Starchief..

Default Not A Pontiac But Rare

Here's a rare vintage 1970s car. Yeah it's not a Pontiac but a now a missing cousin no longer made, like the Pontiac brand.

1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S W-31. Garaged for 34 years.

Story here.... http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/class...mage=AAviC9N|1

I've only seen 2 of these in person years ago in the late 70s, and not another since then.

There will be several of them on display in the W-31 Invitational Display at MCACN this year.

Here's a few from the Minnesota History Center website. The first one is the parts counter at a dealer that sold Pontiacs, GMC trucks, and Minnesota-Moline tractors, the others are from the car races at the Minnesota State Fair.

Wouldn't that be Minneapolis Moline tractors?

Whoops, slip of the tongue. I grew up across the street from a Minneapolis-Moline dealership so you'd think I'd know better.

1976 24 Hrs of Daytona - Bill France brokered a deal with IMSA to create a NASCAR GT class for the race. That's David Pearson out front.
